Missing 6-day-old infant from Virginia found safe, police say

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - A missing 6-day-old infant from Franklin County, Virginia has been located, according to police.

Officials with Virginia State Police said the newborn was found safe Wednesday as of 1:53 a.m.

The child was believed to be in the custody of his grandfather, 45-year-old Ronnie Howell, Jr.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said he was believed to be traveling in a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500, black or purple, similar to the vehicle shown in the photo below.

The truck is equipped with Florida license plates, a silver toolbox in the truck bed, and a light bar mounted on the front fender.
