Man pleads guilty to shooting at undercover St. Louis police officer

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to shooting at an undercover officer.

Anthony Stallworth, 25, pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count each of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, distribution of fentanyl and discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 9.

Prosecutors said Stallworth itted to selling 28 capsules containing fentanyl to an undercover officer on Oct. 10, 2019. When the officer ed Stallworth again to purchase more fentanyl, he met with him and had him follow him in his car. When the undercover officer stopped at a stop sign, Stallworth stuck a gun out of his window and fired two shots in the direction of the officer’s vehicle.

In the summer of 2023, officers reportedly saw Stallworth engaging in drug transactions in the 4700 block of Wilcox Avenue. During a court-approved search of an apartment in the area, Stallworth and 450 grams of meth, 86 grams of fentanyl, a 10mm pistol and drug paraphernalia was found.
