CHATHAM, Ill. (KWQC/Gray News) - A fifth victim has died as a result of an April 28 after-school crash, according to authorities in Illinois.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon confirmed in a media release that 8-year-old Bradley Lund died Monday morning.

Lund died in the hospital where he was itted after receiving “blunt force trauma” injuries in the crash, Allmon said.

The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County coroner and the Illinois State Police.

The crash has now left five dead, including an 18-year-old, another 8-year-old and two 7-year-olds.

Six others were injured after Illinois State Police say 44-year-old Marianne Aker drove through a crowd at an after-school camp and through a building.

State police said Aker was tested for both alcohol and controlled drugs; nothing was found.

Director Brendan Kelly said Akers’s blood and urine were comprehensively tested, and police are investigating a possible medical event.
