The new policy prohibits speaking negatively about co-workers, spreading rumors, and sharing private information via email or social media.

Sources familiar with the situation told First Alert 4 deputies are not wanting to sign the document.

The two-page document states that by not engaging in gossip, deputies a stronger, more respectful sheriff’s office.

It also states that failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
