Rock musician Greg Kihn dies at 75
(Gray News) - Greg Kihn, a rock guitarist and vocalist known for hit songs in the 1980s, has died at 75 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The Baltimore-born musician’s website confirmed Kihn died on Tuesday.
The Greg Kihn Band hit the Billboard charts in 1981 with “The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em),” and the band’s biggest hit “Jeopardy” was released two years later, hitting No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 behind only Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.”
The popularity of the track inspired “Weird Al” Yankovic to write a parody titled “I Lost on Jeopardy,” referencing the longtime game show.
Kihn was also an author of six novels and a longtime radio host.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
