According to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, officials responded to a report of multiple people shot at a residence.
The puppy was checked out by Columbus County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services Officers and transported to a shelter.
Some local DMV Drivers License offices will be limiting their walk-in services today and tomorrow.
The road is open but drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area, says SPD.
The accident happened on U.S. 17 near Grandview Drive in Hampstead heading south.
