In the children’s book “Lion Protector,” young readers are transported to the heart of Kenya, where golden savannas stretch as far as the eye can see and one little girl dares to dream big. The girl imagines herself tracking poachers, racing against time to save majestic lions, but first, she has to overcome doubters who say only boys can become wildlife rangers. Author Natalie Heberlie ed Paige Hulsey to talk about the real-life “Team Lioness,” the first female wildlife rangers in southern Kenya, who inspired the book.
