A mother’s love knows no match. But there is also something truly special about the bond between siblings. When a child dies, it may feel nearly impossible to explain and answer all of their siblings’ questions. That is the reality that Jeanette Steiner faced when her precious 15-month-old son never woke up from a nap at daycare. As she processed and navigated the loss, she wrote “Owen’s Light,” a children’s book to help her children and honor their brother. In the book, a family of owls in the forest experience loss, grief, and the healing power of love. Together they learn to embrace pain, one another, and discover even in the darkest moments, love has the strength to illuminate their path. Steiner ed Paige Hulsey on Turn the Page with Paige to talk about how her book is now helping other families as well.
