‘A little surreal’: Mom graduates from school along with her 2 children

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - A Kansas City mother earned her diploma at the same time as both of her children.

Ambra Isenberg and her two children, Ethan and Liz, all received their degrees earlier this month.

The mother of two received her master’s degree in biomedical science; her daughter received her associate’s degree in graphic design, and her son received his high school diploma.

Ambra Isenberg said she juggled planning both of her children’s graduations on top of her own.

“We were all taking finals at the same time, it was a little crazy and a little surreal,” she said.

Luckily, all three graduations fell on consecutive weeks, so they could all attend each ceremony together.

Ambra Isenberg said it wasn’t easy, but busy moms who also want to achieve their own goals can do it.

“It’s tough, but it’s achievable,” she said. “These kids were always there for me and gave me a little bit of grace when I needed it.”
