Bear found sitting on kitchen stove after falling through home’s ceiling
MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WSMV/Gray News) - Homeowners in Kentucky had a very unexpected intruder in their home last week.
A game warden with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Agency said he responded to reports of a black bear inside a Bell County home around 5 a.m. on May 21.
When Game Warden Derick Creech arrived at the house, he said he found the bear sitting on the kitchen stove.
Creech was able to run the bear out of the home through an open door with the help of a Bell County deputy.
When investigating exactly how the bear got into the house, officials determined the bear had fallen through the building’s ceiling from the attic.
“After taking a look around, it was determined that the bear had climbed up a ladder outside and squeezed through an opening into the attic,” the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Agency said. “The bear then fell through the ceiling into the residence below.”
