Red Cross opens 4th shelter in St. Louis

The American Red Cross has opened another shelter in St. Louis to help people affected by the May 16 tornado.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The American Red Cross has opened another shelter in St. Louis to help people affected by the May 16 tornado.

The shelter is the fourth the Red Cross has opened and is located at Peter & Paul Community Services: Garfield Building, 2612 Wyoming Street, St. Louis. The number of people seeking a place to stay in the shelters has grown to over 200 as of Saturday, the organization said.

The Red Cross said anyone displaced by the tornado is encouraged to come to the shelters for snacks, water, meals and a safe place to stay. Transportation is available until 8 p.m. from the Save-A-Lot parking lot at 4447 Natural Bridge Ave and from 5200 Cates at the intersection of Enright and Union.
