Woman accused of setting fires at vacant properties
CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (First Alert 4) - A woman was arrested and charged after vacant properties were set on fire in Cahokia Heights.
Kenya Sloan, 26, is charged with arson. Investigators said she was served the warrant and taken to the St. Clair County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Cahokia Heights police were called to the 100 block of Lazarcheff Drive on Monday around 2:50 p.m. for reports of a burglary in progress. Investigators said the caller reported that a woman and three men were attempting to enter the back of a vacant home.
The responding officers were previously briefed about suspects breaking into vacant properties and starting fires. When officers arrived, Sloan was seen trying to run from the home and was taken into custody. The two other suspects were not found, but officers said they are still looking for them.
According to police, Sloan was previously a person of interest in a string of arsons through Cahokia Heights. She was also suspected of breaking into a vacant home over the weekend and setting it on fire. That fire then spread to an occupied home next door.
Investigators said Sloan provided a voluntary statement that she started more than four fires throughout Cahokia Heights.
