Purina, St. Louis Area Foodbank give out resources

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Area Foodbank and Purina were in Ballpark Village Thursday for the 24th annual Purina Cares Day.

from both groups were handing out both human and pet food along with other resources. The event was scheduled before Friday’s tornado, but following that, both groups say the needs in their community are greater than ever.

“Purina’s been in St. Louis for 130 years now, this is our home,” Kim Beardslee, Purina’s Director of Community Affairs, said. “We have so many people at Purina who have been impacted by this, and many more neighbors and friends. And I think it’s so important for us all to come together.”

According to Purina, they are actively working with the city and Mayor Cara Spencer to help storm victims, including donations totaling $50,000 to relief funds.
