Tonight & Friday: A cool and dry northwest flow is locked in for tonight with lows into the 40s. We’ll have lots of sunshine to start Friday but count on increasing cloudiness later in the day Friday and especially the evening. A sprinkle or brief light shower is possible Friday evening.

Saturday will have lots of dry time but lots of clouds. However, there is a 30% chance for a few brief showers at times. Higher chances in the morning with lower chances during the afternoon.

Sunday will have a good chance for scattered shower and some rumbles of thunder. While it won’t rain all day, it may be widespread and heavier in the morning hours. with a few showers redeveloping later in the day.

Monday (Memorial Day) still has rain chances, but the latest trend is a little lower and not as much of a lock for widespread rain. That said, we have a 40% chance for showers and some rumbles of thunder.

At this point, no strong to severe storms are expected through the holiday weekend. Rainfall totals from Saturday through Monday will mainly will range from 1 to 3 inches with heavier totals are possible southwest of the St. Louis metro area. The rainfall has looked a bit lower in the latest models with areas Southwest taking the brunt of it, but still expect some decent showers at times across the St. Louis metro.

Rain may linger into Tuesday before a drier pattern takes hold with a warming trend through next week.
