Today & Friday: A cool and dry northwest flow is locked in. That keeps temperatures below normal for this time of year with morning lows in the upper 40s-low 50s and afternoon highs near 70. We’ll kick today off with loads of sunshine before a few clouds develop into the afternoon. Count on increasing cloudiness Friday in the afternoon and evening. A sprinkle or light shower is possible Friday evening, mainly southwest of St. Louis, but most of our area will remain dry.
Memorial Day Weekend: Rain chances continue to look fairly low Saturday. The latest trend in the model data is to bring a few scattered showers through in the morning and midday with a lot of dry time in the afternoon. Then rain chances ramp up late Saturday night into Sunday with a 60% chance of wet weather along with a few rumbles of thunder. Those chances remain near 60% on Monday (Memorial Day) itself.

At this point, no strong to severe storms are expected through the holiday weekend. Rainfall totals from Saturday through Monday will mainly will range from 1 to 3 inches. Some heavier totals are possible southwest of the St. Louis metro area.
There is a chance of rain into Tuesday as well, but that chance appears to be significantly lower. We expect dry weather with a slow warming trend for the second half of next week.
