ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - After closing for a couple of days following Friday’s storms, the Saint Louis Zoo reopened on Monday.

The majority of the zoo’s attractions reopened on Monday, but some places were still restricted. The goal is to have it all open by Memorial Day weekend.

Damage inside the Zoo included toppled trees and metal poles sheared off. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries to animals or people.

One of the trees crashed into the Butterfly House, damaging several acrylic s. The Butterfly House in Chesterfield rescued the butterflies from the zoo.

According to zoo officials, the weekend-long closure resulted in a loss of more than $500,000 in revenue.
