4-year-old drowns in neighborhood pool during graduation party, police say
ZACHARY, La. (WAFB/Gray News) - A child has died in Louisiana after drowning in a community pool on Monday night.
According to the Zachary Police Department, the drowning happened around 7:30 p.m. while the girl’s family was having a graduation party in the Meadow View Subdivision.
Police said the 4-year-old girl’s mother pulled her from the pool after finding her and began R.
First responders istered life-saving measures when they arrived, and the child was taken to the Lane Regional Medical Center.
Sadly, the child, whose identity was not immediately released, died after an hour of doctors trying to save her, police said.
“This is a tragic incident that remains under investigation. I extend my condolences and prayers to the family,” Zachary Police Chief Darryl Lawrence Sr. said.
