Man charged in death of 17-year-old girlfriend in O’Fallon, Illinois

Police are investigating an overnight homicide in O’Fallon.

O’FALLON, Ill. (First Alert 4) - An 18-year-old man has been charged in the death of a 17-year-old girl in O’Fallon, Illinois.

According to police, the homicide happened at the Goshen Trailhead parking lot on Kyle Road, across the street from Edward A. Fulton Junior High, on Sunday night.

On Tuesday, the victim was identified as Cadence Eileen Prince. Police allege that she was killed by her boyfriend, Julian G. Holloway.

Holloway has been charged with murder/intent to kill. He is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail pending additional court proceedings.

“This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the often-hidden dangers of teen dating violence and domestic abuse. No one—regardless of age—should feel unsafe in a relationship. We urge all families, schools, and community leaders to have open and ongoing conversations about healthy relationships, warning signs of abuse, and available systems," Police Chief Kirk Brueggeman shared.
