ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Battlehawks pulled away with a 29-28 win over the Birmingham Stallions Saturday afternoon.

The lead changed six different times throughout the game. The Battlehawks were struggling to score, until rookie quarterback Max Duggan accelerated 13 yards for a touchdown.

The Battlehawks’ defense once again kept the Stallions from scoring, tallying four sacks. This led to Duggan breaking free for another touchdown to end the first half.

Although St. Louis struggled to score in the third quarter, the defense answered with a touchdown of their own. Linebacker Callahan O’Reilly recorded a pick six to give the Battlehawks a 22-21 lead.

The Stallions responded with a ing touchdown from quarterback J’Mar Smith with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Battlehawks once again responded with running back Jacob Saylors leading the charge and rolling through the Stallions’ defense to secure the win.

Duggan ended the game with two rushing touchdowns with 69-yards, and recorded a 12-21 completion rate for 110 yards. Saylors finished with 110 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Battlehawks will play the San Antonio Brahmas for the second time this season at the Dome on Friday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m.
