Local food truck owner, father of 7 killed in Friday storm
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Rachel Baltazar is still in shock after finding out how her husband died Friday after a tornado-producing storm swept through part of St. Louis.
She believes her husband, Jaun Baltazar, was on his way home from Lowe’s when a tree fell onto his car on South Grand in Carondelet Park.
Jaun Baltazar died at the scene.
“Everybody loves him and we’re going to miss him,” Rachel Baltazar said.
Juan Baltazar was known in St. Louis for owning and operating a street corn food truck, El Madilon. His wife says the business was his pride and joy, but what was most important to him was the seven children he leaves behind.
“They are very attached to him, all of his kids, he talked to all of his kids every single day,” Rachel Baltazar said.
A GoFundMe has been set up to Rachel Baltazar and their children, as well as one of Jaun Baltazar’s older children.
Jaun Baltazar is one of five victims killed by Friday’s storm and tornado that hit the St. Louis metro area.
