1 dead, several injured in head-on crash with tour bus at popular tourist destination

PAGE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) — Authorities say a person is dead and several others are hurt after a head-on crash involving a tour bus in northern Arizona.

According to the Page Police Department, the crash happened on Coppermine Road near U.S. 98 on Wednesday.

Police said a sedan was heading south when the driver crossed the center line and slammed head-on into an Antelope Slot Canyon Tours bus that was going north.

The sedan driver died. Several people on the tour bus were seriously hurt.

Authorities did not release any further immediate details but said speed and alcohol were not ruled out as factors.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
