3-year-old girl shot, killed by her 7-year-old brother, sheriff says
TOWN OF CRYSTAL LAKE, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) – A 3-year-old girl was shot and killed by her 7-year-old brother in a Wisconsin town, officials say.
The shooting happened Saturday night at a home in the Town of Crystal Lake.
Marquette County dispatch received a 911 call just before 4:30 p.m., and deputies responded to the home along with Neshkoro Fire Department and Waushara County EMS.
According to Marquette County Sheriff Joseph Konrath, the siblings were with their mom visiting family over the weekend. The family was not from the area.
Konrath said this is a devastating situation for everyone involved.
“The first responders and the people working the investigation, it was very hard on them, but it was harder on the family,” Konrath said.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing further information at this time due to the “sensitive nature” of the death and involvement of minors.
The investigation is ongoing.
