WESTMORE, Vt. (WCAX/Gray News) - State police found a body believed to be that of a missing hiker during a training exercise.

A state police search and rescue team conducted a routine training near Lake Willoughby in the Mount Pisgah area on Wednesday.

They selected the area because it’s also where 51-year-old Sue Mi Ko disappeared. She never returned after setting off for a hike in January.

State police officials said they used the training as another chance to search for her.

During the search, they located a body they believed to be her’s several hundred yards from the Mount Pisgah trailhead.

The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office to her identity and to determine her cause of death. Police do not think it’s suspicious.
