Woman run over, killed by suspected drunken driver after motorcycle stalls on highway
ST. GABRIEL, La. (WAFB/Gray News) - The family of a Louisiana woman hit and killed by a suspected drunken driver after the motorcycle she was riding on stalled says they still have questions about what happened.
Katina Perck Leggion, 51, was a enger on a motorcycle that stalled early Sunday morning on Highway 30 in St. Gabriel. Soon after that happened, police say she was run over by a pickup truck and died at the scene, WAFB reports.
“She was a loving girl, my daughter. Sometimes, she had her bad ways. Sometimes, she had her good ways,” said Perry Perck, the victim’s father.

Police say the pickup truck driver, identified as 51-year-old Sean Alteri, was drunk when he hit Leggion. The victim’s family says this never should have happened.
“It’s one of the most selfish things to do because not only are you putting yourself in danger but you’re putting other people on the road around you in danger,” said Chelsea Sedotal, the victim’s goddaughter.
Leggion’s daughter, Kristina Reid, helped police identify her mother’s body following the crash.
“She had her times where she was very caring and was there when people needed her,” Reid said.
Now, Leggion’s memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, father and other loved ones.
“We’re all gonna away one day. It’s just you never know when. Sometimes, you don’t have enough time with people before they go. You just gotta make the best out of the time that you have with them,” Sedotal said.

Alteri was charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated and vehicular homicide.
The man Leggion’s family says she was with at the time of the crash was also arrested for DWI. He was identified as 47-year-old Troy Johnson.

As of Monday, both men remained at the Iberville Parish Jail, and their bond hearings had not yet been scheduled, according to jail records.
