Teacher charged with DUI after showing up drunk at school, police say
WEST RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX/Gray News) - A Vermont teacher is accused of coming to school while intoxicated.
According to Vermont State Police, troopers were called by officials at the West Rutland School on Wednesday morning about a teacher, later identified as 55-year-old Lori Antal, who had arrived allegedly intoxicated.
When police arrived, they determined that Antal was showing signs of impairment and arrested her.
The 55-year-old was charged with driving under the influence and issued a citation to appear in court next month.
This is the second reported incident of a teacher showing up drunk at the West Rutland School this year.
In February, Dennis McLaughlin, 53, was arrested after police said he drove to work intoxicated. He pleaded not guilty to drunk driving.
