ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A teen fell off an SUV, then was hit by a fire truck and died in Midtown St. Louis late Saturday night, police say.

The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Compton and Chouteau, which is the border between Midtown and the Gate neighborhood.

Police say a Cadillac Escalade was stopped at a red light and then made a left turn. Nyla Simmons, 18, of St. Louis County, was dancing and the roof and fell onto the pavement. A fire truck then hit her. Authorities say the fire truck had its lights and sirens on because it was responding to a call.

Both the fire truck and the Escalade remained on the scene. On Monday, St. Louis Metropolitan Police said the vehicle Simmons fell from was a limousine and the agency is investigating.
