Backstory STL #9: Dave Walters
ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) -- This week’s guest on Backstory STL is Dave Walters.
You may know him better by his Facebook page, “St. Louis Scanner News.” He started posting happenings he heard from the police and fire scanners on social media. Eight years later, his Facebook following is 47,000.
Walters started out posting almost exclusively news, with an occasional picture of his cat making it on the page. But in 2020, after a stage 3 cancer diagnosis, he decided to get personal with the people who turned to him for news. He started posting about his battle with cancer and got an overwhelmingly positive response.
