ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Football is still alive and well in the Gateway to the West.

The United Football League on Sunday announced the 2025 UFL Championship Game presented by Underdog will be held June 14 at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis.

The announcement was made during halftime at the D.C. Defenders vs. St. Louis Battlehawks game. First Alert 4 has a crew at the game and is getting fan reaction to the news.

“St. Louis is a football town and it can be a football town again,” Joey Brown of Fenton. “I think we just kind of show that, we have the Dome it’s such a good space.”

The announcement comes on the heels of other championships in the Gateway City.

Frozen Four wrapped up over the weekend.

In January, the U.S. Figure Skating Championship will be held at the Enterprise Center.

The city’s track record with events of this magnitude is what encouraged UFL leaders to return to the city.

“The fact the city puts itself forward as a host of sports events when you can have not your host’s hometown team playing but the entire city steps up and says we will embrace championship because we love football, we love sports, that’s extremely important,” said Dany Garcia, the UFL’s co-owner, at the Battlehawks’ post game news conference.
