(InvestigateTV) — Doctors told them they had a 97% chance of being diagnosed with the disease.

Ivy and Lexie Hunt were in their early 20s when they underwent genetic testing because of a family history of breast cancer.

“The doctor called me first and told me that I was positive,” Lexie said. “Of course, like, I really hope my sister doesn’t have this as well.”

“Unfortunately, we both came back with BRCA 2,” Ivy said.

BRCA 2 is a gene mutation that indicates you are at an increased risk for breast cancer.

“When we found out, we weren’t that surprised,” Ivy said. “My grandma had breast cancer, and one of my aunts at the time had just ed away from breast cancer.”

With that unfortunate combination, doctors told them they had a nearly 97% chance of getting breast cancer in their lifetime.
