WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President Donald Trump stands by his National Security Advisor after Pentagon war plans are leaked to a journalist.

A day after a Signal group chat discussing classified military operations was leaked to a journalist, the President playing down the security lapse by senior of his istration.

While meeting with a group of U.S. Ambassador nominees, President Trump told reporters that his national security team – led by National Security Advisor Mike Waltz - will use the national security leak as a learning moment.

“But I always say you get you have to learn from every experience. I think it was very unfair the way they attacked Michael. He’s a a good person.”

The President acknowledged that his national security should have used a secure channel of communications to discuss war plans - against Yemen’s Houthi rebels- rather than use the unsecured commercial Signal app.

“That’s one of the prices you pay when you’re not sitting in the situation room with no phones. Which is always the best, frankly. But, you know, you the best is to be there.”

Congressional Democrats have criticized Trump istration officials for their carelessness. While chat participants have denied discussing classified information, they remain opposed to releasing a transcript of the chat to the public.
