ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis CITY SC tested an accessibility program for the blind and visually impaired during Saturday’s match against the Seattle Sounders.

The program, called Touch2See, provides a tactile and auditory experience for visually impaired fans. The program uses a board with real-time ball data and AI. It provides real-time descriptions of on-field action and has an interactive touch map of the stadium.

CITY SC is the first MLS team to pilot the program, according to the organization. CITY says this initiative is apart of their commitment to making Energizer Park welcoming and inclusive for all fans, including deaf and hearing impaired, blind or visually impaired and fans with physical and neurodevelopmental conditions and disabilities.

“Soccer is a sport for everyone, and this pilot program with Touch2See is a significant step toward ensuring that all fans — including our blind and visually impaired fans — can share in the excitement and ion of the game at Energizer Park,” said Matt Sebek, Chief Experience Officer of CITY SC.

CITY said they worked with Belleville-based MindsEye to recruit 10 local blind and visually impaired fans to test the technology during Saturday’s match.
