Creve Coeur Soccer Park damaged during Friday’s storms
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis County Parks and Recreation is assessing the damage done to the Creve Coeur Soccer Park Complex in Maryland Heights following Friday’s severe storms.
The istrative office building, which was housed in a trailer, was demolished in the storm and now sits in a pile of rubble. Goals from the soccer fields were tossed around and damaged, some are in the nearby wooded area.
One of the quadrants of fields will remain closed for months after damage to the turf.
“It blew insulation and broken glass and all kinds of debris into this field over here. The turf is completely torn up and it is going to take us three months to get replaced,” said St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page.
The soccer complex hosts trainings, practices and games every night of the week and the damage will have an impact on the soccer community in St. Louis.
