Backstory STL #3: Jeff Hastings
ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) -- This week’s guest on Backstory STL is Jeff Hastings, a 20-year Air Force veteran who runs the nonprofit “The Flagman’s Mission Continues.”
Hastings deployed to several different places in Asia and Europe and served in the Gulf War. His nonprofit work today honors fallen active-duty military and first responders.
Hastings gives local communities the opportunity to honor those people by placing large American flags from the funeral site to the place of burial, sometimes spanning several miles. The mission covers 12 different states including Illinois and Missouri.
