CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A Ballwin man is accused of victimizing several women over the span of nearly two years.

Yahya Maly, 28, of Ballwin, is charged with two counts of first-degree rape or attempted rape, seven counts of second-degree rape, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and two counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy. His cash-only bond was set at $500,000.

A woman who wants to remain anonymous tells First Alert 4 that Maly was her classmate at Logan University, a chiropractic school in Chesterfield.

“He was somebody that took an oath to protect and protect people and help them, and he did the exact opposite,” the student says.

She describes how she felt when she found out about Maly’s arrest, “I was just shaking and then like the tears just hit ‘cause, I was like, ‘That could have been any of us.’”

First Alert 4 obtained a letter the university sent to students Wednesday afternoon—which reads in part, “Logan University has been made aware of a student who is currently in custody for alleged crimes. Please know that we are taking this matter very seriously.”

This woman claims he made several female students in their cohort feel uncomfortable including her.

She says, “I made sure that I tried to keep my distance... we’re practicing what we’re going to do in the office one day. Him just having lingering touches and not keeping the professional boundaries.”

According to the woman, she tried reporting her concerns to the school.

She tells First Alert 4, “I was told that because it wasn’t a Title IX violation that we couldn’t really do anything, so it was basically like keeping a record of like if he’s gonna do anything off.”

Logan University confirmed Maly is no longer a student in a statement to First Alert 4 which reads, “This individual is no longer a student of Logan University. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities to help in whatever manner we can to the investigation. The safety of Logan University students, faculty, staff and visitors is our top priority.”

First Alert 4 reached out to Logan University to ask if they received reports about Maly before or after his arrest. Thursday, they sent the following statement:
