Federal workers protest DOGE, Musk
Hundreds of thousands of jobs threatened
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - Thousands of federal workers in protest outside the Capitol as Elon Musk swings the ax in the name of efficiency.
Thousands are gathered Tuesday, February 11 in Senate Park outside of the Capitol with an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty of who or what could be next on Elon Musk’s chopping block.
Union workers, united against Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s moves to slash government agencies, workers, positions and programs.
Mark Dimondstein is the President of the American Postal Workers Union.
“It is an uncertain time for everybody who is dedicated to the mission of serving the people of the country.”
The protest comes the same day DOGE announced 881 million dollars in cuts to Department of Education contracts.
It comes just one week after USAID was gutted.
Abi Smith worries Donald Trump is overstepping his presidential power.
“It felt like at least last time there was some checks and balances in place that would stop him or some people that would call him out and you don’t have that now,”
Musk taking to his own platform X to onish democrats who have ed the fight, writing
“The louder that any given politician yells about cutting government waste, the more corrupt the are, good rule of thumb”
For Mark, there’s too much on the line to stay silent.
“This is going to be a long fight, and the worst that we could do is not fight.”
