NEW ORLEANS (KCTV) - Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 on Thursday night.

Allen was named to the Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The defensive end who began his career in Kansas City from 2004-07, played 187 career games and totaled 136 career sacks.

Allen accrued 43 sacks with the Chiefs but starred with the Minnesota Vikings after leaving Kansas City. He had 85.5 sacks with the Vikings.

His first of five Pro Bowl seasons came in 2007 with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs team wished Allen a congratulations for his accomplishment.

Other Pro Football Hall of Famers in the Class of 2025 included former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sterling Sharpe, defensive back Eric Allen and San Diego /Los AngelesChargers tight end Antonio Gates.
