‘All she saw was dead bodies;’ St. Louis woman says sister was in New Orleans during attack
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis woman says her sister was in the French Quarter when a man intentionally crashed his truck into a crowd of people celebrating New Year’s in New Orleans.
There are reports of people around the country looking for loved ones who went to New Orleans to celebrate the new year. Tonya Perry says she was one of them. She lives in St. Louis and woke up to the news.
According to Perry, this began a frantic search for her sister, Michelle.
She says Michelle is okay and was actually walking into a bar in the French Quarter when the attack began.
Perry tells First Alert 4, “Soon as she came in the door, they locked the doors of the club, and they didn’t know what was going on. They just cut everything off. All the music and everything, and then she said they all got escorted out of the club and when they got escorted out, all she saw was dead bodies and bodies in the street. And when she told me that, I just broke down, it was horrible.”
Perry says she’s glad her sister is safe, but she is worried about her emotional well-being.
