COLUMBIA, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - The SEC has fined Mizzou $250,000 after fans stormed the court at Mizzou Arena following the Tigers’ upset win over #1 Kansas Sunday.

Students and fans stormed the court following MIzzou’s 76-67 win over rival Kansas. It was the Tigers’ first win over a #1 ranked opponent since 1997.

The SEC says the school is being fined $250,000 because it is the school’s second violation of a conference rule adopted against storming the court or field. The first violation occurred when the football team upset Kansas State in September 2023.
