Many take in the views at the ‘Thanks for Giving’ parade

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - It’s a St. Louis tradition, now in its 40th year, the Ameren Thanks for Giving Parade made its way down Market on Thursday.

For one family, this is their 30th year ing in all the festivities.

“I always watched the Macy’s Day parade with my mom and the Rockettes. So that is what brought us downtown to see the Rockettes and 30 years later, they’ve been coming since they were babies, my brother and my family,” said Patty.

Patty and her crew come prepared every year with warmth, food and lots of comfort.

“Hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, breakfast casserole in honor of my mom,” she said.

The parade welcomes over 120 floats, marching bands and many dance teams to the streets of downtown St. Louis.

“We enjoy it,” said Gary.

And with this day spent with family, it’s a time to be thankful.

“I’m thankful for the Thanksgiving day parade,” said Aden.

And there is a lot of thanks to go around on this Thanksgiving day.

“I’m thankful for my friend and family,” said Ariel.

“My family and I got to be in the parade,” said Alton.

“That I got to be in the Thanksgiving day parade,” said Albor. “I’m thankful for my family, God and I’m thankful for all the people that live out here”
