KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - On Tuesday, KCTV5 learned that the homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were broken into in early October.

In a Wednesday press conference, Mahomes addressed that burglary report for the first time.

“It‘s frustrating, disappointing,” Mahomes said. “I can‘t get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing. Obviously something you don’t want happening to really anybody, but obviously yourself.”

The Cass County Sheriff‘s Office stated that just after midnight on Oct. 6, deputies responded to the Mahomes residence in Loch Lloyd after a break-in report.

When asked if he or his family was home at the time of the report, Mahomes said he could not go into detail because the investigation remained ongoing.

“I’m sure at some point that will be talked about,” he said.

The sheriff’s office stated that its investigation remained active. It was not known if any items were taken or if there was any damage.

On Oct. 8, Leawood police responded to a burglary call at an address previously reported as Travis Kelce’s Leawood home. While police have not confirmed the incident, law enforcement directed KCTV5 to its Crime Map, which lists a burglary report at that location on Oct. 8.

The respective incidents took place before and after the Chiefs' Monday night win against the New Orleans Saints, which then kicked off the team’s bye week.
