PAGEDALE, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A North County general contractor says his work truck, with thousands of dollars worth of tools inside, was taken Wednesday morning by a tow driver.

Every morning, Franky Jordan says he tunes in to watch First Alert 4, but on Wednesday, he ended up watching his security footage.

“I looked over in the spot and the whole van was gone,” said Jordan. “Seen the footage of a tow truck driver, driving up the street with the van.”

Jordan’s surveillance video shows the headlights of an unmarked black tow truck rolling down Curtis Avenue in Pagedale at 5:52 a.m. Video shows the driver try to hook Jordan’s work truck from the back, so he connects it in the front and eventually drives off with Jordan’s white 2019 Ram Promaster van. He says he had up to $8,000 worth of tools and equipment inside his work truck, forcing him to reschedule jobs.

“Please bring my van back,” Jordan said. “There was no name on the truck it was just a black tow truck.”

Back in April, First Alert 4 was the first to report a tow truck driver stealing multiple cars in Dutchtown. Soon after our reporting, police arrested 47-year-old Bryant Wendell and charged him in two distinct cases.

“That came to mind, but the way he looked at it was like he was really looking for the vehicle,” explained Jordan. “So that’s what scares me, why would he be looking for it?”

Jordan’s video shows the tow driver flashing a light through the windshield. He thinks maybe the guy was looking at the VIN number.

Pagedale police tell First Alert 4 they’re investigating this as an accidental repossession or a full-out theft because investigators say Jordan has his proper title and bill of sale.

“I’m a man who believes in faith and by faith, I’m a see this through,” said Jordan.

Jordan is hoping his faith brings his livelihood back home.
