WATCH: Ferguson police release Officer Travis Brown’s body camera footage
FERGUSON, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Police have released footage from Ferguson Officer Travis Brown’s body camera from Friday night.

The footage released Wednesday shows the team put together to arrest a suspect accused of vandalizing the gate at the Ferguson Police Department. In the video, the arrest team is seen assembling, communicating about what they saw, engaging and finally Brown being hit.

Crowds gathered outside of the Ferguson Police Department Headquarters on Friday as a part of the Michael Brown and the protests that followed his death in 2014. Around midnight, the gathering grew violent, with officers being injured, property damage and several arrests.
Officer Brown was hospitalized after suffering a severe head injury. At a press conference Tuesday, Police Chief Troy Doyle said Brown was still hospitalized with critical injuries. Elijah Gantt, 28, of East St. Louis, is facing several charges connected to Officer Brown’s injury and damage to the gate.

Officer Brown is a father of two and started at the department in January. He previously worked at the St. Louis County Police Department since 2012.
