JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe is one step closer to the top job in the State of Missouri.

Kehoe won the Republican primary for Governor Tuesday night, beating out Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, State Senator Bill Eigel and several other candidates.

Kehoe was appointed as Lt. Governor in 2018 by Parson, who vacated that post when Gov. Eric Greitens resigned. Kehoe was elected to a full term as Lt. Gov. in 2020. Parson recently endorsed Kehoe in the GOP primary.

Kehoe will be favored to win the general election in November.
