ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4)—Phoenix Jackson, the newly hired chief communications officer for Saint Louis Public Schools, no longer works for the district.

Jackson’s hire was shrouded in controversy after she posted on social media that she would float between Texas and St. Louis. The district defended the hire just 12 days before her end date and insisted she would be living in St. Louis.

Friday, the district told First Alert 4 that Jackson’s end date was on July 30, six weeks after she started.

Last week, the school district announced that Superintendent Dr. Keisha Scarlett had been placed on temporary leave.

On Friday, St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones told First Alert 4 that the mayor’s office is requesting an audit from the state auditor.
