ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A goal by a City SC newcomer gave the club a 2-1 win in the first round of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Tuesday.

Hosei Kijima scored the go-ahead goal just before the match went into stoppage time. He was the 17th overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

Tim Parker broke the scoreless tie with a goal on a header off of a free kick in the 61st minute. Houston leveled the match 11 minutes later.

City SC opens MLS play on Saturday at home against Real Salt Lake. They continue CONCACAF Champions Cup play with a rematch against Houston on Feb. 27.
