ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - Police have issued at-large charges for the suspect in a 2023 homicide in North County.

St. Louis County Police say Dominic Stidmon, 21, of St Louis, has been charged with Murder, Robbery, and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.

Stidmon was taken into custody on Tuesday in Topeka, Kansas, where he is being held without bond.

The shooting happened in the 10400 block of Monarch Drive just after 9:30 p.m. on March 17, 2023.

Police say officers found a man shot inside a car that had crashed in the front yard of a home. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. He was later identified as Lawrence Carr Jr., 22, of Normandy.

According to a probable cause statement, Carr Jr. and Stidmon had arranged for Stidmon to buy marijuana from him. During their meeting, Carr Jr. was fatally shot and his marijuana was stolen. Police identified Stidmon through phone records between the two.

In addition, shell casings found at the scene ballistically matched shell casings recovered from a residence that is associated with Stidmon.

St. Louis County Police say the City of Topeka, Kansas, Police Department was instrumental in the arrest of Stidmon.

St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is handling this investigation.
